Linda Locke, 64 and retired carer from Leiston in Suffolk, has won a new  Eclipse ‘car boot’ mobility scooter  courtesy of  TGA Mobility  in Sudbury – giving her independence to bird-watch once more. For many years, Linda and her husband David have been regular visitors to the  RSPB  Minsmere nature reserve on the east coast of Suffolk. This  AONB  is home to a huge variety of wildlife including otters, adders, lizards and wetland-feeding birds such as Avocets. The Lockes are keen bird watchers however Linda lives with  Osteoarthritis  which means walking is becoming increasingly difficult and painful. Peter Jones, 68 and chairman of  Burnley's Shop Mobility , is now able to offer a better service to locals looking for mobility scooter loans thanks to the support of a leading brand - TGA. Peter has lived in the Burnley area most of his life and before retiring was a successful long distance coach driver. For over 40 years he drove school children and holidaymakers around mainland Europe regularly working in countries such as Switzerland, Austria, Spain and France. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting the challenges of this job role however today he is responsible for managing Burnley's Shop Mobility with several other volunteers. This is a registered charity that provides mobility scooters, wheelchairs and other disability equipment for hire in and around the Burnley area. Alf Jackson, 83 from Warrington, Cheshire, is a real 'character' and retired Fire fighter who despite living with severe Arthritis, has regained his freedom thanks to a 'fire engine' TGA Breeze mobility scooter that was partly funded by  The Fire Fighters Charity. Alf has lived in the same area all his life and was originally born in Warrington. He now lives with his wife Pat and two rescue dogs Lady and Sammy who are walked by local helpers, as Alf requires the use of crutches to move around. In 1948 he began his two years of National Service in the army and excelled at sports such as rugby and running. Alf became a qualified gym instructor, went onto play amateur Rugby League for Latchford Albion and played against Wigan in the main cup competition. Leaving the Army, Alf struggled with a subsequent job, as he wanted more of a challenge, hence he joined the Fire Brigade in 1957.
